Original photo finished in May of 2010, then with some new knowledge I redid it in August with some mixing of layers and smoothing of the background. It looks slightly less like an HDR with the background clouds, but still I really like the image. Even better the second time around. 🙂 Original caption: Found in the Bayfield, CO cemetary. HDR from 3 images. This really calls to me, somehow, and not just because my own mother is dead. The stone work was exquisite and the HDR process really worked to bring out the details there. Also, the clouds were beautiful that day. I desaturated the sky but left the stone as is to bring out the solemn beauty of it all.
