Gardenia- 2 Versions, Testing Nik Silver Efex Pro

Gardenia B&W

Original, Unedited Image

I’m testing Nik Software’s Silver Efex Pro plug-in, so I thought I would post 2 versions of an image for your viewing.  So far, I like the final image, finished with Silver Efex Pro.  It was very simply treated, using Photoshop and a few quick passes with “dodge” and “burn” to try to even out the lighting in the photo.

Don’t quote me on the gardenia thing… I’m not completely sure if that is what I have pictured here or not.  What I do know is that it is a delightful smelling, tropical flower that I found in Hawaii.  I left a little grain, like a film photo would, so no noiseware professional treatment tonight.  Pure photoshop and Nik.

You can find this in the flower gallery on www.kelleybard.com. Enjoy my work!
